Is it really free?

Yes. Three subdomains per account, no credit card, no trial timer, no ads injected into your site. We keep it free because DNS records cost us almost nothing.
Can I use it with Vercel or Netlify?

That is the main use case. Add the subdomain as a custom domain in your host's dashboard, then create a CNAME record here pointing to the hostname they give you.
What about HTTPS?

If your host issues certificates (Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages all do), leave the proxy off and they handle it. If you are on a bare VPS, turn the Cloudflare proxy on and you get HTTPS immediately.
How fast does DNS propagate?

Records are created on Cloudflare the moment you submit, with a low TTL. In practice it resolves within seconds, though some ISP resolvers cache for a few minutes.
Which names can I not use?

Anything that would break the zone (www, mail, ns1), collide with a page on this site, impersonate a well-known brand, or look like a phishing address. The checker tells you before you submit.
Can I move my subdomain elsewhere later?

The subdomain lives on our zone, so it stays here — but you can repoint it at a different host any time, or delete it and free the name for someone else.
